Images from Dutch comic, Storm. My grandparents had crates of old comics magazines, which they bought at the local flea market for whenever I came to visit. Storm fascinated me: it was dark, kind of morbid, but visually arresting and wildly imaginative. Its heydays were from the late 1970s to the late 1980s.

Don Lawrence, the artist, died in 2003; after that the series was continued with different artists, though nothing surpasses Lawrence’s work in my opinion.
